THE LITERATURE AND JOURNALISM DEPARTMENT

  The literature and Journalism Department (formerly Tajik literature) was one of the first Departments of Khorog State University named after M. Nazarshoev which was established in 1992. At the beginning of its establishment the Department included both linguistic and Tajik literature subjects and later on two other Departments – the Tajik Language Department and the Persian Language Department were established on the base of this department. 

The department has a high scientific potential and from the time of its establishment experienced and titled teachers have worked in this department. Experienced teachers like Usufbekov Sh, Nazarova E, Ofaridaev N,  Shakarmamadov N, Qurbonmammadov Sh, Mirzohasanov L, Charogabdolov A, Davlatbekov L led the department for many other years and made a significant contribution to its scientific and pedagogical progress.

It was the unique work and activity of those people that today 5 Candidates of the Philology Science, associate professors, 5 Senior teachers, and 11 assistants in three departments Tajik Literature, Art and Music and Journalism are doing scientific and pedagogical activities. 

Since its establishment (1992), the department has had teachers like Salimsho Alimshoev, Sunnatullo Abdulloev, Z. Marodbekova, H. Qalandarov, (Dr. of Science) L.  Davlatbekov  (Candidate of the Philology Science),Shukrat Karamkhudoev (Candidate of the Philology Science), Saidhasanshoev ( the Trainer of the University of  Central Asia) who have changed their job positions at the moment. 

A few years ago the scientific potential of the Department within the University was very high and the Dr. of Philological Science professor N. Shakarmamadov, Senior teacher Sh. Qurbonmamadov (Folk poet of Tajikistan-Shirin Bunyod), Senior teacher Charogabdolov. A were very active who unfortunately are not alive today. 

The members of the department mainly work in the direction of literary studies and are conducting scientific research works in the sphere of “ Research on the lives and works of writers of classical literature, modern literature, written literature and Folklore of Badakhshan”. 

For several years a Journalism department was based on the Tajik Literature department in which 5 experienced teachers, 1 Candidate of Science, 3 Senior teachers, and 1 Assistant are working. The Journalism department has a close contribution to Regional Mass Media, Radio and Television, and Regional newspapers for preparing the specialists.

At the moment with the assistance and contribution of teachers like the Candidate of the Philology Science, Associate Professor G. Rahmatulloeva,   the Candidate of the Philology Science R. Shofaqirova, the Candidate of the Philology Science L. Mirzohasanov, the Candidate of the Philology Science S. Azorabekov, the Candidate of the Philology Science H. Tavakalov, the Candidate of the Philology Science J. Behronov, the department has a high scientific potential in contributing the qualified specialists.
