The department of “Functional Analysis and Differential Equations” (FFMD) was created at the faculty in 2006 for the sake of effective activities of the Faculty of Mathematics and improving the quality of education and the scientific level of specialists – mathematician through the consistent efforts of the former president of the university, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor G. Dzhangibekov, at the suggestion and initiative of the Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor M. Zarifbekov, Currently, the head of the department is Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Mamadayozov N.M. 

Currently, there are 2 candidates of physical and mathematical sciences, associate professor Mamadayozov N.M. and Zargarov Zh.Zh., 7 senior teachers Shoidarvozova G.S., Kanonova U.H., Shomurodov Z.B., Shogunbekova G.Sh., Shokhinbekova Sh.S. Mavlonazarova M.A., Navruzmamadova S.R. , 11 assistants Safdarkulova Kh.N., Gulamadshoeva M.G., Davlatnazarova A.S., Dzhangibekov M.I., Gulomnabiev A.D., Nosirov B., Shodibekova Sh.F., Shodmonova Kh.Sh., Muzofirov D. G., Amonbekova Z. A., Mirzoev M. are busy at the department for teaching students.

The Department “Functional analysis and differential equations” for specialties 1-510101-Applied mathematics, 1-51010103- Informatics, 1-020601-02- Computer security at the bachelor’s level and 1-510101-Applied mathematics at the master’s level is considered to be a specialized department. 

Teachers A. Shoidarvozova G., Konunova U., Shomurodov Z., Gulomnabiev A. D., Muzofirov D. and others are known as qualified teachers, members of this department among teachers and students of the university. The contributions of these noble people are a matter of concern and pride for the faculty and the university as a whole. Needless to say, teacher A. Golomsafdarov, under the leadership of academician A.I. J.T.Z. Usmanov defended his Ph.D. thesis. Also a teacher is Shomurodov Z. has prepared a Ph.D. thesis and is going to defend it.

On the initiative and constant efforts of the university rector and the faculty administration, students of the faculty use 2 specialized computer laboratories, 1 non-specialized computer laboratory, as well as more than 35 computers, one LCD display (large screen). Education created the necessary conditions.

One of the prestigious specialties of our faculty is the specialty of computer science, which is created directly with the help of various computer programs through the use of modern technologies.

Over the years, the position of head of the department of functional analysis and differential equations was held by associate professor Zh.M. Odinabekov. (2006-2009), senior lecturer Zargarov Zh.Zh. (2009-2017), candidate of physical and mathematical sciences Kholmamadova Sh.A. (2017-2019), and senior lecturer Shoidarvozova G.S. (2019-2022). From 2022, the head of this department will be Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor N.M. Mamadayozov.
