From 1998 to 2000 The Faculty of Pedagogy functioned as a department of pedagogy and methods of primary education. This faculty was founded on the basis of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. Since 2002, on the basis of pedagogy and methodology of primary education, a correspondence department has been founded. In 2015, the Faculty of Pedagogy became independent, and since then, the faculty has been teaching in the following specialties: primary education methods, social pedagogy, preschool education, physical education, military and primary training, art and music. The faculty has a great scientific potential, where 62 teachers from among the teaching staff conduct their scientific and pedagogical activities, who are engaged in teaching and educating students. Among them, 1 doctor of sciences, 8 candidates of sciences and 53 teachers, as well as 10 employees work as part-time.

Today, the faculty has 233 full-time students. 143 of these are girls and 90 boys are studying on a budgetary and contractual basis at the bachelor’s level, 7 people are studying under the Presidential quotas.

The faculty consists of 3 departments: the department of pedagogy and methods of primary education, the department of psychology and methods of teaching and the department of physical culture, which today are the main centers for training scientific and pedagogical personnel for general educational and preschool institutions of the republic. Over the years of the faculty’s activity, more than 4 thousand specialists have been trained, who today conduct their labor activities on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The faculty has 5 permanent scientific and methodological seminars: “Let’s study together”, “Young mathematicians”, “Young defenders and athletes”, as well as “Young teachers and psychologists”.

     At the stage of research and methodological terms, 4 monographs, 3 textbooks, more than 72 scientific articles, 7 scientific and methodological manuals have been published.

   Thanks to the efforts of teachers of the Faculty of Pedagogy, the faculty cooperates in research terms with such outstanding centers of science as Lomonosov Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, the Pedagogical Institute of St. Petersburg named after A.I. Herzen, Belarusian State University, Research Institute of Physics of St. Petersburg and other research institutes.

  At different times, the faculty was headed by: Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences R. Felaliev (2009-2018), Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences K. Kadamov (2018-2019), Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Sh. Shoziyoev (2019-2022), Senior Lecturer S. Shabozov (02.2022.09.2022). Currently, the dean of the faculty is the candidate of philological sciences, associate professor Bekhronov J.
