PROJECT GREEN DEAL CENTRAL ASIAN UNIVERSITIES

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

The GDCAU project, funded under the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education program [Project Reference: 101179245] and coordinated by Constructor University Bremen, brings together 13 universities from Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to advance EU Green Deal actions across Eurasia. The project situates universities as key drivers of sustainability, regeneration, and green innovation, emphasizing their potential to address global environmental challenges by advancing education and research in environmental sustainability and regeneration; fostering university-industry-NGO-government green partnerships; and serving as a hub of earthbound knowledge-sharing and training.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Strengthening the institutional capacity of universities to develop and implement ESG-focused strategies.

Training specialists in environmental sustainability by updating educational programs and launching a joint masters program on the EU’s Green Deal.

Enhancing university-business cooperation to support companies in implementing ESG principles.

Establishing an inter-university Green Deal Center to promote evidence-based education, research, innovation, and public engagement.
