The Department of Pedagogy and Primary Education was founded in May 2001 on the basis of the faculties of mathematics and physics. The department is headed by Alikhonova S. T.

Currently, the department is engaged in training and education: one associate professor Alikhonova S., 4 candidates of sciences: Kurbonkhonova N., Dzhonmirzoev E, Zoolshoeva B, Parpishoev K, as well as 5 senior teachers Shabozova S., Abdulofizova S., Avzalshoeva S., Khursandova A., Odinamamadova R.N., Metarkhonova N., assistants: Abdurakhmonova S., Nekbakhtshoeva R., Rakhmatshoev A., Shodmonbekov K., Fozilbekova U., Nazirova S., ParvonaevN, Kholiknazarova A., Bandaliev Z., Lutfishoeva Sh. , Khubonshoev J., Khusravov U and laboratory assistant Isomerova A.

 The Department of Methods of Primary Education works in the following specialties: physical education 1-030201, 1-030202 – physical culture and military primary training, 1-01020203 – art and music of primary education, 1-0304203 – social pedagogy at the undergraduate level.

The teachers of the department conduct scientific activities in the field of pedagogy and methods of primary education, the Tajik language and folklore.

According to the achievements of the scientific work of the teachers of the department, 4 monographs, 6 textbooks, 10 curricula, 60 scientific articles, 35 scientific and methodological articles, as well as 6 methodological recommendations were published.

The department closely cooperates with the Republican Institute for the Improvement of Teachers, Bokhtar State University named after N. Khusrav, Pedagogical Institute named after S. Aini, Khujand State University named after B. Gafurov.

From 2002 to 2007, the department was headed by senior lecturer Lalbekova M., from 2007-2021 Alikhonova S., from 2021-2022 Abdulofizova A. Currently, the department is headed by associate professor Alikhonova S.
